Child Health Hub Clinics
Information on your upcoming appointment
How is my appointment different to a usual GP or hospital appointment?
- You will see two doctors at the same time in one face-to-face appointment - a GP and a hospital children’s doctor (paediatrician). There may also be a third doctor from the team.
- It will be longer than usual (up to 30 minutes); giving more time to talk about your child’s health and address your concerns.
- The clinic takes place at different local GP practices, so you might be seen at another nearby practice. Please check your appointment details to find out where to go.
- If further support is needed, your child’s care may also be discussed with other teams, like health visitors, school nurses and dietitians (food and nutrition experts).
What will happen after my appointment?
- You will usually see your regular GP again for follow-up.
- If your child needs further checks or additional support, this will be discussed with you during your appointment.
Is there anything else I should know?
- If you feel you may need an interpreter, or are unable to attend your appointment, then please let the reception team at your GP practice know.
